Caravelle Hotel

Vietnam Tourist Information and Travel Guide

The Caravelle Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City is one of Saigon's most famous landmarks.  When completed in 1959, the original 10-story building was the tallest in the city. The historic rooftop bar is a wonderful location to enjoy a drink.

During the Vietnam War, the Caravelle Hotel became the central headquarters for foreign journalists including reporters from the Washington Post, New York Times and Associated Press.

In recent years, an additional tower was built adjacent to the original building.  The revitalized Caravelle Hotel is today one of Ho Chi Minh City's most elegant hotels.
